NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS FOR LARGELY DEFORMED BEAMS AND RINGS ADOPTING A NONTENSILE SMOOTHED PARTICLE HYDRODYNAMICS ALGORITHM

Abstract Three typical elastic problems, including beam bending, truss extension and compression, two-rings collision are simulated with smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) using Lagrangian Eulerian algorithms. A contact-force model for collisions equation of state pressure arising in colliding bodies also analytically derived. Numerical validations, on the corresponding theoretical models, carried out compression simulations. instabilities caused by largely deformed configurations finite/large deformations analysed. The numerical experiments show that algorithms handle small well, but only algorithm can large deformations. results obtained from a good agreement values.
